My First Visit

PLANNING TO VISIT SUMMIT LIFE FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Here’s what to expect…

Your first visit to Summit Life will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! Below are answers to some more specific questions.

HOW DO I KNOW WHERE TO GO?

Summit Life holds its Sunday services at 10:30 am in the cafeteria at Mosley P-8 at 55 N. Salida Way in Aurora. The school is a convenient location for all who live in Aurora. It has plenty of parking and is easily accessible. Mosley is located just west of Airport Road (slightly north of Alameda Parkway. Large Summit Life signs are placed on Airport Road, while smaller signs will lead you to our parking lot. The cafeteria is directly to you right once you enter the building.

WILL THERE BE SOMETHING FOR MY KIDS?

We love kids…and they’ll love our nursery! As a parent or guardian, you can be assured your children will be safe and secure in a clean nursery staffed exclusively by caring individuals who have passed background checks. We use computerized check-in to ensure the safety of your child. Each child will have a nametag for security reasons and no unauthorized person will have access to the nursery or your children. Children will play games, have fun, and hear an age-appropriate Bible message… so you can relax and enjoy your worship experience.

 WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We don’t believe in having a dress code to come to church. God wants to meet with us regardless of what we wear. You are welcome to dress informally and comfortably when attending our services. We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF THE SERVICE?

The service will begin promptly at 10:30 am with a welcome from Pastor Matt and an opening prayer. The next 10-15 minutes will include greeting each other, songs or worship, and the offertory (we do not expect first-time visitors to give but we do ask you fill out a guest card to we can know you better and maintain contact). Pastor Matt’s message is typically 30 to 35 minutes. The service closes with announcement and prayer, ending promptly at 11:30 am.

 WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENT LIKE?

At Summit Life, we strive to create a friendly, comfortable environment. We won’t make you wear a visitor badge, stand up, or stand out in any way. We want you to check us out without being singled out.

WHAT KIND OF SERMON WILL I HEAR?

Except on special occasions, Pastor Matt’s messages will be part of a series of sermons designed to bring life application to God’s Word. All messages are scripture-based and designed to educate, inspire, convict, and guide you on your spiritual journey.

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT TAKES PLACE AFTER THE SERVICE?

After each service, light snacks and punch are served in the foyer just outside the back of the small commons. It’s a great time to visit with Pastor Matt and SLBC members and visitors. Feel free to pick up children from the nursery as they are welcome to enjoy the refreshments.

 WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I ATTEND?

Ideally, we would like four things to happen as a result of attending Summit Life. 1) You’ll make Sunday attendance a priority for yourself and your family. 2) You’ll participate in (if your schedule allows) our Thursday evening Community Groups meetings in the Pastor’s home to enjoy food, fellowship, and devotional. Note that children are welcome on Thursday evenings. 3) You’ll schedule a time to meet with Pastor Matt so he can get to know you better, pray with you, and help you grow spiritually. 4) You’ll become a member of the church and devote yourself fully to God’s plan for your life.
